Okay, for those of you new to this weblog, hi there, hello, welcome, come on in.
This is the semi-regular Podcasting Roundup where I look through my feeds and link all of the Second Lifer-produced podcasts I know of and let you know about new episodes, news about the podcasts that I've been told about, and other sidebar commentary.
I listen to most of these, but there's a few that I must admit hold absolutely no interest to me, so I just toss up the podcast without much beyond show notes summaries.
Some may hold absolutely no interest to you, too. But the fact that there's other podcasters out there in-world, well, maybe if you're a secondlife, you'll think about podcasting... or a podcaster thinking about secondlifing.
These folks can do it, right? Why can't you?
Oh, and if you're wondering where I keep the list of these things, my sidebar contains almost all of the podcasts, but if I'm missing one, feel free to let me know about it and I'll check it out.
Here we go:
BEST OF THE WEEK: Pothedz Couch. New episode is out. Sure, it's stoner humor, but it's damn funny stoner humor. If you haven't seen them all, go back and see them all, then let Bongo Bohm know. (His theater is on the West side of SoHo island)
Guy David is recording a live Night Guy #50 episode with Talkshoe tonight. IM Bluesmoke Hextall for details.
For those of us in the OTHER fifty states, (724) 444-7444 code 79523, but sign up at talkshoe.com first.
Dedric Mauriac is preparing Blue Hair #13 Live. It's recording Saturday from 4PM to 7PM, and he's looking for some musicians, eh. DM him via Twitter @ DedricMariac or IM Dedric Mauriac. (I'm seeing Tweets from Grace 1 and Grace 2, eh)
Britney Mason: Another week, another Popcast. Get your fill of her producer Dave and his sidekick Jen.
Updated the listing in the new directory site. Shocked that people actually read this.
Mikeypod: Interviews a vegan bodybuilder. An unusual concept, but one that might inspire you to get fit.
My commute time drops by at least an hour next week, so half of that is going to a workout session every day. I'm going to start a weight tracker on the clocktower soon.
Mikeypod demonstrates the key to a good "friendly" interview - an interviewer who is interested in the subject matter, informed on the subject, and engaged in the conversation. Oh, and he doesn't ask stupid questions... he asks questions the subject wants to answer. People like to talk about themselves. It's their favorite subject, usually.
Managing the Grey: Further friend conversations, more Web 2.0 and Web 2.1 discussion.
I guess I should have left a voice mail instead of a comment. Oh well. Maybe next time I'll just post on my site and link over... or something.
Pizza Babe: Straight from the Freak Network, everybody's favorite Naughty Girl is done with the emo.
If she falls off my podcatchers again, I'm going on a killing spree.
Second Style: Holiday gowns.
As opposed to Holiday Goons, aka The Grinch!
Financial Aid Podcast: Free Stuff Friday
Recent add, despite the fact they're pushing 700, eh.
Electric Politics: Who knew? Population growth as a Ponzi Scheme? I guess I'll use up the commute home to check this out.
Another day, another 100 Word Story. Almost 1,300 episodes now. An extra from Theodoric Lindman/Elisson is in the hopper for tonight, too.
Has anybody else broken 1,000 yet? Or will 100WS hit 2,000 before then
Need stuff to promote your podcast? Check with Podcastjunk.com, a useful service from your friends at Podcast and Podcaster Islands.
I should run a few polo shirts to give away at SingingArc, PME, and SLCC, eh.
If you're not in this roundup or the brand-new directory I'm working on, SHOUT REALLY LOUD IN THE COMMENTS!
There's 53 active and semi-active podcasts in the directory so far. I know there's more out there.
Just added two more podcasts to the list and fixed Britney Mason The Popcast.
Check those SLURLs, folks. I know they're out of date for a few, and I'm kinda busy with something.
All it takes is going to the Map function, copying SLURL to the clipboard, and emailing the link or DM twittering or adding it to the comments.
Keep an eye on Lagtime Live: Interviews with SL musicians.

I'm SHOUTING REALLY LOUD to let you know you got the name of Britney's podcast wrong in the directory. It should be Britney Mason's The Popcast. Thanks! :)

Chris - No problemo. And if there's any you think I've missed out of the list, just yell or have them yell and I'll get them added.
I've seen some cool collaborations happen as a result of podcaster discussions and socializations in SL. Maybe this might help spark more, maybe it won't.
Time will tell.
