Saw an announcement for a standup comedian performing in SL, decided to check it out.
Looks like one of Thinkerer's pet projects. Some of it was funny, sure, but overall it was just too raunchy for my tastes.
"A feather is kinky, the whole chicken is just plain wrong." sort of thing, ya know?
It's why I stopped enjoying George Carlin and have never enjoyed Whoopi Goldberg. Just one long string of garbage instead of humor.
But what I *did* get from this was that they used Voice to perform, as opposed to my own performance a few months ago via a Shoutcast stream.
The instant response is critical for a comedy performance or a reading of short stories. When I have done both, I found that lag to be excruciating, and you may have noticed I haven't tried either again since.
I am not interested in doing it again using the Shoutcast method.
However, having seen Voice used effectively for both comedy and readings, I think I'm interested in doing both again using it.
It would be interesting to hear how a comedian deals with hecklers (as opposed to griefers?).
