One of my favorite movies is UHF.
Michael Richards plays Stanley Spidowsky. He's a dimwit janitor, but he's a fun dimwit janitor and Weird Al's character starts a hit show with that janitor as the star.
One of the prizes of that show is where the winner gets to drink from the firehose.
"You get to drink from the firehose" is one of my mantras.
Way way too many notices and way way too many group chats.
And when it comes to notices I'm interested in to notices that I'm not, the percentage is way, way low.
Just as soon as I added it, I dropped the LL Traffic group that Jeska set up, and I've also dropped Live Music Enthusiasts.
Whatever the Lindens will do with regards to traffic, they'll do.
And I'll keep track of the gigs I want to hear with the Search menu when it's working.
If Relay For Live Volunteers keeps up the pace with all the notices, well, I'll just drop that one as well and get my builder tag back when it's time to build on the sims.

Funny, this just came up over at slmc. Maybe it's time to come up with something better. I'm sure everyone is fed up with notices (and performers are among the most fatigued, since most of us have ended up in numerous general groups (LME, IMG, etc...) plus several venue groups (since we have to get build rights) My IMs are almost always capped, since I'm drinking from several fire-hoses at once.
I love UHF (just watched it again a few weeks back) and it's probably Mr. Richard's best work. Ya gotta love a movie that can get the line, "Supplies!" as a bunch of asians jump out of a supply closet, to work.
