Happy accident

I didn't realize that Heron Island was taking a break this week, so when I tp-ed over there for a Grace and Effinjay evening, instead it was Sandbox time with Gillian.

Got to meet some of the regulars, showed off my new ramp and railing setup.

Someone whipped out a sliced cutshape tube as an alternative, but the interior of the tube is a single texture, so you have to set up a special texture for the interior.

Instead, I go with the spiral for the flooring and the tube slice for the rail. Uses twice the prims, but looks better and is simpler on texturing.

Then, as I was watching balls roll down the ramp and wondering how to include a dynamic element in physical prims into the clocktower, this appeared...

the amazing engine

It's an engine that draws up the balls into a hopper which roll down the spiral.

I'll post a movie of it in a bit, which is also a WOW! with the SpaceNavigator. (And a total suck-up to Torley's videos, eh)
