... and the virtual EPA to analyze the Erosion?

Grace has rounded up reactions and posted a link to The Publius Project. (To Houstonians: The Berman Center has nothing to do with Lance Berkman, who is currently making a big case for MVP and triple-crown for 2008 if he keeps this up and lays off the Twinkees)

I'm going to check those articles when I get nice and comfy at home today (I really, really wish I had that dual SLI laptop now, but I just killed the credit cards off and don't want to go into a debt-chase again just yet.)

In Boston, we’d be fine with our cab driver spontaneously expressing support for the Red Sox, but we would be surprised if the cab driver pulled over, unasked, to show us how well she plays the tuba, no matter how well she plays it.

Folks who know me well would immediately assume that I would be thrilled if such a surreal moment took place.

Hey, I'm weird, okay? And if the tuba playing's good, heck, that cabbie's gonna get the tip of her life!

Of course, leave it to that Swindlen nutter to put it all into perspective in 140 characters or less:

@SecondLie To prevent social erosion, we are implementing social terracing, drama windbreaks, newbie mulch, and Linden tree reforestation.

You know, that's not all that crazy, if you think about it.

Break a window on a building, and if you leave it unfixed, all the windows will be broken. And even worse will happen in a blighted area like that.

Clean things up and keep them clean, and folks will act better than in they're in a blighted, chaoit chellhole.

Unless, of course, you're supposed to be in a managed dystopia (ie Glass Earth) that looks good through finely-crafted Rummage and Wreckage style. Then, a pretty and perfect minimansion is totally out of place...

Feh. I'll shut up now, and wait for the opportunity to read all these juicy, tasty Berkman essays while Lance kicks ass at 21:15 tonight.

GO FAT ELVIS!

*imagines all cabdrivers in Boston pulling over and pulling out their tubas simultaneously -- then filling the city with "Flight of the Bumblebee"*
