Eshi pointed out a way to make the waterflow more dramatic by darkening the glass tubes and then making them more transparent.
So...
It looks way cooler with the red water flow... but it does tend to make the blue stand out more.
I need to get a spiral back in here somehow. Maybe put one in the center pit on the ground level instead of that boring straight pipe?
