Meetup

Todd Cochrane of Blubrry.com was the guest speaker this week, giving advice on monetization of podcasts, finding sponsors, etc.

podcaster meetup 1

podcaster meetup 2

I don't find much use in Podshow, Mevio, Blkubrry, Podcaster News and all those other sites. Podcast Pickle's forums are an on/off thing for me, even though I do manage to stalk and lurk there as often as I can.

When in doubt, find a mutual friend and watch the reflection ripple to see how they disturb the waters. Yeah, I spaced on Tom's last name. I've been saying "Tom of Footnote" and "Bring back 8 Things, Tom!" so much, I was like M... M... M... MARQUETTE! ARGH!

Todd's one big thing to take away from all of it is that podcasting hands control to the consumer - you control the time, the content, storage, etc. You have full control on managing when you enjoy the product and to what extent you want to interact with the show.

It totally destroys the tyranny of the clock and the scheduler.

Time.

I try to mock it as much as I mock Gravity, don't I?

Heh.

It is good, though, getting confirmation that PW Fenton got the boot from Podshow/Mevio.

The day he dissed Guy David is the day he was carved into the clipboard upon which my crap LIST is hung.
