It's nothing fancy... just a gigantic RSS logo with signposts that you can click on to get more information and eventually audio files as part of a podcast about the sl5b build.
Copper, rivets, glowing lamp globes, and the inevitable gear with a C in it.
Still not sure where it's supposed to go, since the landmark dropped me in the plaza area of a 4-sim music venue, but it can pretty much go anywhere. Right now it's across from the Metaversed Messenger.
The banners rotate every few seconds, and I've got a nice assortment of current and podfaded podcasts up there to give folks a sense of the history SL has in podcasting. (Except for Adam Curry, who I feel did two good things for podcasting in SL: getting in and getting out. Consider me jaded, biased, and an overly opinionated asshole in that regard.)
Right now, I've got podcastpickle.com, mevio.com, blubrry.com, apple.com's podcast faq, podcastready.com as the websites to check out for more info. If there's any I overlooked, I can always add more laptops with hovertext and llloadurl scripts.
And if you think I don't have your texture, well, send it to me copy mod, since I've already written the no copy no mod song, eh. This is supposed to promote all podcasters in the community.
I repeat: community. (Which reminds me, I need to write up the notecard about how it actually is a community)
Radar's working on some stuff for it, too. He's awesometastic.
Oh, and when we get back from HDTV shopping today, I'll fire up skype and be ready to field any calls. I'd like to add a few interviews of podcasters to the build to let the public know:
- What our podcasts are about.
- Why we podcast.
- How podcasting and/or Second Life has changed us over time.
Yadda yadda. The usual bullcrap.
