Air France is opening islands tomorrow.
Place your guesses as to when they abandon them in the comments.
Instead of making new islands, they should be sponsoring and enhancing the Paris 1900 builds that are in financial trouble.
Yes, it's not a fancy modern build and such, but I think it would be seen as a good gesture to the overall SL community as well as a design/marketing challenge to blend the historical with the modern. Maybe do a progression of aircraft from Paris 1900 over to modern day jets in a new island?
Language lessons? Cultural lessons? World map with destinations? Weekly in-flight movie screenings?

I just hope when they do abandon them, they don't blame LL and Openspaces. Hey, making money and/or showing an ROI in the metaverse is damn hard. Just own up to it and admit you couldn't. Hint, hint, metaverse builder company types.

What is it with the concept of "Paris"? This is the third "Paris" sim that has flopped, by as many owners, in the last 3 years.
Yes, and I agree that blaming the cost of openspaces is silly. Nobody even heard of them 6 months ago, where did they build back then? On $1000/$295 islands, sometimes half rented out to help pay tier. Put a mall on a build like Paris 1900 and get the tier paid for.
