The ferryboat was 28 prims, so when you add 4 passengers - maxed out as a physical vehicle.
With a little simplification, I stripped out a few prims and added one to display the next station on the tour:
It also has credits for those who have contributed a component to the ferryboat.
Okay, so the syntax is a bit rough on the thing, but I'll get with the scripter to see if that can't be cleaned up a little.

This boat sounds neat. But after seeing it about 20 times now, I do have to express one annoyance: the texturing. You/they/somebody uses the old wood texture from the library. They couldn't find anything else? And they don't tile it small enough so that the tiles are proportionate for this object, and seamless. I dunno, things like that shouldn't annoy me, given how cool this is, but I thought I'd see what might be done.

The choice of Old Wood for the exterior is intentional.
It's rudimentary, well-known, and may way of telling myself "come up with something fancier."
I did have a texturemap over it, but it degraded performance for folks with lesser videocards.
I've drawn up a square-backed ferryboat design, and I've got a set of textures that I'm adapting for it.
