Show and Tell

People are always showing the coolest things at Lummerland's Show and Tell on Sundays.

Show and Tell is another "O'Clock" I have in my SL week, along with Grace O'Clock and so on.

I have an alarm in my Blackberry for it

Looks like other people do, too.

The running commentary is funny... and it's funny without ever being hurtful. It's always supportive, or people throw out ideas to make things even cooler.

I like that.

But most of all, I like the silly bits and easter eggs people stick in the things they make.

Here's an amazingly-detailed camera on a jib that a studio equipment maker made...

The SL/RL and Real/Virtual options had me laughing for a minute. After seeing my share of cameras and ten thousand guzintahs and guzouttahs with all their meaningless labels, it's good to know that there's folks that take their silliness seriously.

That's why I spent so much time on Magellan the Snake:

Working with just these two cutshape, tapered fiddlybits, I have a deeper appreciation for folks who work with microprims to make wonders and marvels.

I'm sure they do it with maths instead of muscle-power. Because zooming in and doing it by "eye" is next to impossible when you zoom into the prim vanishing point all the time.
